Before you start
you will need:
- the plate number of the vehicle and your New Zealand driver licence
- a valid credit or debit card or your internet banking details (POLi)
Note: It could take up to five working days for your new licence label to arrive in the post. The label will be posted to the address of the person registered as the owner of the vehicle or in the case where this is a lease company will be sent to the lease company's address. If you require your label sooner, you can continue to licence your vehicle online and get a replacement label at an NZ Transport Agency agent at a cost of $4.11 (GST incl.)
Note: If you are licensing a vehicle that needs a double sided label holder for a single plate vehicle (such as a trailer or motorcycle) this will automatically be sent to you with your label.
Important note: From 1 July 2015 the ACC levy portion of your licensing fee (rego) is going down by an average of 41% depending on your type of vehicle. To benefit from the reduction as soon as possible, you may want to renew your licence so that it expires soon after 1 July 2015. Click here for more information.
