From 1 July 2015 the ACC portion of your licensing fee (rego) is going down by an average of 41% depending on your type of vehicle. (This does not apply to motorcycles). To benefit from the reduction as soon as possible you may want to renew your licence so that it expires soon after 1 July 2015. The minimum length of time you can renew your licence online is three months. If you want to renew your licence for less than three months you will need to visit one of the Transport Agency's agents and complete a MR27 form. Before you start you will need:
- the plate number of the vehicle and your New Zealand driver licence
- a valid credit or debit card or your internet banking details (POLi)
It could take up to five working days for your new licence label to arrive in the post. The label will be posted to the address of the person registered as the owner of the vehicle. We advise you to keep a copy of the email confirmation for your licence renewal until your new label arrives.
